If you are still confused about this Jamb new policy and implementation, please don’t be because everything has been explained in details
Question 1
Please what did they mean by scrapping of POST-UTME and pegging the cutoff mark as 180?
Answer
What this policy actually means is that the FG have remove anything like University POST-UTME exam, so no school would be allowed to conduct any form of written examination except if there is a reverse of the statement by the FG.
Question 2
I scored 180 in Jamb, what will I do?
Answer
If your score is 180 and you make two different choices when registering for Jamb, then you may be admitted. Your second choice may take you if and only if their cutoff mark is 180. So you need to pray for that.
Question 3
I scored 200 and above, do I have the chance of getting admission?
Answer
Yes you do!! If your score is high and OK, your school of choice will send your name to Jamb for admission process, but NOTE you may not get the course you apply for. Reason is because your Jamb score may not reach the department you apply for cutoff mark. So at the end of everything, you may find yourself in another department you never dream t of.
Question 4
What if my score didn’t reach any department cutoff mark in that school?
Answer
If your score didn’t reach any department, Jamb may send your name to another school just to make sure the quota is filled to the brim (remember this will happen if only you make two different choices when registering your Jamb).
Question 5
I scored 179 in Jamb, any luck for me?
Answer
YES there is still hope. If you score 179 and below, there is still chance for you to enter school, but that will be universities that run ND programs or Polytechnics who accept evening program (evening program is been process without Jamb, just your WAEC result) you can check list of Polytechnics in Nigeria here to see the ones that accept that. (Federal polytechnics Owerri is one of them and their form is on sell now)
NOTE: Please don’t give your money to anyone for any admission process. Don’t let anyone take advantage of you because I can see that most of you are anxious about this whole saga.
